A bit of everything...

Just read that 40% of the Dutch are drinking coffee that is made from these Senseo pads... and 30 % drinks coffee made with filters.
This means 70% of the Dutch are drinking bad coffee...

My first thoughts were "What a bunch of herd animals they all are if they are all drinking that pad crap" Immediately after followed "Respect to Philips that they finally have been able to market a unique product of theirs and have the whole country drink disgusting coffee".
After having failed to market previous technologically superior products they deserve a break... but ooooooh myyyy gooood...

I don't drink much coffee, but pleeeease give me something better than that pad crap :) Not to mention that filtered black water... And 70% of the Dutch are drinking it... lazy bums...

Anyway... this isn't about coffee, but about something fun Chris emailed me from Perth:

Quote Of The Week:
At a recent U2 concert in Glasgow, Bono asked the audience for some quiet.
Then in the silence, he started to slowly clap his hands.
Holding the audience in total captivity, he said softly into the microphone
"Every time I clap my hands, a child in Africa dies.²
Then a voice from near the front pierced the silence;
"Well, stop f*cking doing it then."

Anyway, to finish with the lesson of the week:

Still here, really!

I know, I know... haven't posted for a while. Not that I didn't want to, as enough has happened, since last.

Had several half and whole stories in my head with pictures and all, but now... my mind is racing. Inspired. Motivated. Activated. Ignited. And keeping busy... No slacking!

Lots of ideas are running through my head, for my future plans, for my upcoming months.

It all started really suddering Monday last week. We sat, exhausted, tired and with a total lack of sleep in the bus from Granada to Malaga... and in those 2 hrs my mind was wandering of how to implement many things there that have become so 'common knowledge and practice' here. Almost thought up a whole urban city development plan, but I won't go too much in to it right now, as I might want to set up business there in Andalucia, and don't want others to run of with my ideas :)
Am going to sit down and make a decent plan, bounce it off some more people, who have more knowledge of the local indiosynchracies etc...

Yes, exactly, I have been once again to my beloved Andalucia. Just couldn't resist... ehheemmm...

Had a great super week and we managed to squeeze a looooot in to those days. Met old friends and brought along Japie, who joined me for New Years in Spain as well. And... he'll probably end up joining more regularly in that direction. For some mysterious reason... hehehe...

Well, here are some pictures. Just impossible to start somewhere! Many good old well known faces again... Dani, Elena, Paca, Ana and last, but very much not least, Esther, for sure good to see you again!!

Up, somewhere in the Albaicin. Esther, moi and her flatmate, Maria.

It's hard to wake up the next morning. Coffee, anyone?

"Que bonita, la Alhambra..."

And... of course we had to go out. Even saw Paca again, friend of Elena, after 4,5 years! (white and green top girls in front)

End of September and a comfortable 30 degrees... great!

Poetry in the Albaicin

Some Dutch, the Alhambra and the good life...

"So, this is how you make Morrocan tea. Pepito, are you listening and watching?"

Sunset over Granada... not a bad place to be!

Emdrup United!

Granada...

"Really! I only ordered a small glass of Ron Miel! Honestly!"

And then we found a stairway to heaven...

Como canta La Morente...

"Vuelvo al Sur,
como se vuelve siempre al amor,
vuelvo a vos,
con mi deseo, con mi temor.

Llevo el Sur,
como un destino del corazón,
soy del Sur,
como los aires del bandoneón.

Sueño el Sur,
inmensa luna, cielo al reves,
busco el Sur,
el tiempo abierto, y su después.

Quiero al Sur,
su buena gente, su dignidad,
siento el Sur,
como tu cuerpo en la intimidad.

Vuelvo al Sur,
llego al Sur
Vuelvo al Sur,
como se vuelve siempre al amor,
vuelvo a vos,
con mi deseo, con mi temor.

Llevo el Sur,
como un destino del corazón,
soy del Sur,
como los aires del bandoneón.

Quiero al Sur,
su buena gente, su dignidad,
siento el Sur,
como tu cuerpo en la intimidad.
Vuelvo al Sur,
llevo el Sur,
te quiero
y vuelvo al Sur"
